Scott Scale 26” bike sale!

Do you have a child who has outgrown their 20” or 24” bike and is looking for the next bike? We have several of these Scott Scale 26” mountain bikes that were $800 on sale for $400. This is a really nice aluminum frame 2X8 speed mountain bike with hydraulic disc brakes that many kids 10 and up can ride for several years and will be a great hand me down bike for multi child homes.

The all new Marin Alpine Trail is in stock in the shop! Come see one today!

We are a full sales and service bicycle shop

MJ’s Cyclery opened in 2014 with the goal of getting more people on bikes and out of their cars. Whether that means changing up your commute, heading to the store for some groceries, or going out with friends we are here to help.

We have grown into a full service shop well versed in anything from a basic commuter hybrid to an electronic shifting carbon road bike or high end mountain bike.

Any new bicycle purchased from us includes 5 years of free basic maintenance. Brake, shifting, and overall adjustments are included. More advanced repairs and wear item replacements (chain, brake pads, etc) are the responsibility of the owner.

We are a stocking dealer for the Marin Bikes and Scott brands. Marin bicycles date back to 1986 when the mountain bike revolution was in full swing. As many brands do they added other segments to their lineup over the years. Today’s Marin offerings include mountain, gravel, road, cyclocross, commute, neighborhood, and kids’ bikes.

We are also a dealer for Transition Bicycle Company, Banshee Bikes, Argon18, Scott Bikes, All-City, Surly, and Soma. There are several other brands available to us as well.

We offer a full range service department. Whether it’s fixing a flat, getting your bike a tune up, or doing an overhaul and building a new set of wheels we can do it all. Give us a call or drop by to see how we can help you.

Testimonials

Great technicians, high quality work, excellent service, really great people in general. They have also charged me below their original estimate in a few previous repairs. I ride both enduro and DH bikes and sometimes don’t have the time to do more involved maintenance (shock/fork servicing, wheel hub rebuilds, brake bleeds, etc). MJ’s is the one and only shop I will go to in my neighborhood for bike service.

The customer service is top notch. I walked in about 30 minutes from closing time on a Friday so I wasn’t expecting much. Scott helped me with two bikes that I borrowed from family and helped get them in shape for me. He also helped about 4 other customers while working on my bikes and it was a pleasure to see how he cares for each customer.

While I’m not an avid bicycle rider, I will be going back here for any bike needs.

I was in the area and seeking some new spinning/cycling shoes and advice on extensor tendonitis that I have been experiencing. I did not know whether it was caused from running, stepping, or cycling. Nevertheless, Google maps pointed me to a very highly (customer rating) rated shop named “MJ’s Cyclery”. Bottom Line: Beyond my expectations were met - I received expert fitting advice and a wonderful story of how these two awesome store owners met and started a wonderful business. I took their advice and tried new shoes and new recommended techniques and after 90 minutes of intense cycling, no pain. Please go out of your way to visit them - this is a high-tech yet old school customer service and genuinely care about the customer business!!!

We were looking for a bike shop to tune up our bikes and most of the ones we walked into seemed like they couldn’t be bothered.

MJ’s was DIFFERENT. The people in this bike shop are FRIENDLY, REAL and UNPRETENTIOUS. It’s a shame more bike shops aren’t like MJ’s because people would be drawn to joy of cycling if bike shops were as friendly and helpful as these guys and gals. THANK YOU for tuning up our bikes, the great service and getting us back in love with our bikes.

Our goal

When we opened we knew we wanted to be the shop anyone would feel comfortable visiting. I think we did that pretty well. We’ve gotten a bit bigger but we are still a relaxed shop that promises excellent and friendly service.

About The Owner

scott armstrong

I first started working on bikes in 1986 when the then owner of The Chain Gang Bike Shop in Redding CA let me start helping out around the shop to work toward a new mountain bike. I don’t have that bike anymore but I do have the love of bikes I learned from the men and women at the shop. Until we opened MJ’s in 2013 I had never had a paying job in the industry. I have been lucky to have top notch mechanics as friends who have helped me hone my skills working on my own bikes and eventually doing small jobs for friends.

In 2012 I received a Professional Repair and Shop Operation certification from the United Bicycle Institute in Portland, OR.

I have been a core staff member of the SoCal High School Cycling League since 2011. In 2015 I received the NICA Clif Bar Volunteer Service Award.
